- While at LSU in 2015, was one of four finalists for the Golden Spikes Award, honoring the beast amateur baseball layer in the U.S.
- Drafted #2 overall by the Houston Astros in the 2015 MLB draft
- In 2016, was named USA Today Minor League Player of the Year
- Barely a year after being drafted, made Major League debut with the Astros (July 25, 2016)
- Was named MVP of the 2018 MLB All-Star Game after hitting a go-ahead home run in the 10th inning (see video). He is the first Jewish player — and the first Astros — to win the award
