- Detroit’s Ian Kinsler singled twice, walked, and drove in a run in Detroit’s 8-5 win Monday over Cleveland ***
Minor leagues
- Miami assigned 6th-round draft pick Justin Cohen to the rookie-league Gulf Coast Marlins ***
- Philadelphia sent 17th-round draft pick Kenny Koplove to the short-season Williamsport Crosscutters ***
- Jason Richman, picked by Texas in the 18th-round, made his pro debut Sunday with the short-season Spokane Indians ***
- Alex Katz, a 27th-round pick by the White Sox, made his pro debut Monday with the rookie-league AZL White Sox ***
- Jake Thomas, chosen by Toronto in the 27th round, made his pro debut Monday with the rookie-league Gulf Coast Blue Jays ***
- Nine of this year’s 15 draftees remain unsigned ***
- Third-year Pirates prospect Jared Lakind made his first 2015 appearance Monday, a perfect one-inning rehab stint ***
- Red Sox prospect Danny Rosenbaum made his first 2015 appearance Sunday. In a 4-inning rehab stint with the short-season Lowell Spinners, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks and one unearned run while fanning 2 ***
