Danny Valencia was 2-for-5, scored a run, and notched his 35th RBI to help the Seattle Mariners (33-34) beat the host Minnesota Twins (33-29), 4-2. Craig Breslow did not appear for the Twins in this one.
Ian Kinsler hit his ninth double and scored the only run for the Detroit Tigers (30-34) in a 2-1 loss to the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks.
Joc Pederson was 1-for-3 and drove in his 12th run as the LA Dodgers (41-25) beat the host Cleveland Indians, 6-4.
Kevin Pillar was o-for-4 but walked once and scored twice as the Toronto Blue Jays (32-33) held off the visiting Tampa Bay Rays, 7-6. Since his two-game suspension for using a homophobic slur, Pillar has seen his batting average plummet almost 50 points, from .308 to .257. Karma?
Alex Bregman did not start for the Houston Astros (45-22) but did appear as a pinch hitter, grounding out in the sixth innings in a 13-2 win over the visiting Texas Rangers. He remained in the game at third base but did not get another at bat. He was included in Hero Sports’ most recent Top Ten Defensive Plays of the Week, coming in at #6.
Richard Bleier did not appear for the Baltimore Orioles (32-32), who beat the host Chicago White Sox, 10-6.
Scott Feldman did not appear for the Cincinnati Reds (39-26) in their 4-2 loss to the host San Diego Padres.
Ryan Braun remains out of action for the Milwaukee Brewers (35-32).
