Danny Valencia was 2-for-5 with a run scored on Thursday as the Baltimore Orioles (33-75) beat the host NY Yankees, 7-5.
Alex Bregman hit a double (#35) in five at-bats and scored a run as the Houston Astros (69-41) beat the host Seattle Mariners, 8-3.
Joc Pederson was 1-for-5 as the LA Dodgers (60-49) beat the visiting Milwaukee Brewers (63-48), 6-4. Ryan Braun was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for the Brew Crew, extending his hit streak to 7 games.
Max Fried and the Atlanta Braves saw their game against the visiting Miami Marlins postponed by rain. The weather has messed up the team’s rotation, so Fried’s next start might come on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals.
Ian Kinsler and the Boston Red Sox had the day off. They visit the NY Yankees beginning tonight. Boston news outlets are optimistic about the Kinsler trade (articles one, two).
Gabe Kapler’s Philadelphia Phillies were similarly idle. Kapler — who turned 43 on Tuesday — discusses two recent acquisitions below:
