The 2019 minor-league season is all but over. Here are all the playoff stats — good and bad — for the week of September 9-15, 2019:
Mazel tov
- Israel’s national baseball team finished 4th in the 12-team European Championship that ended Sunday (9/15/2019), good enough to advance to the Olympic qualifiers taking place in Italy from September 18-22.
- P Sam Delaplane (Mariners/AA/Arkansas Travelers) was named to MLB Pipeline’s Prospect Team of the Year, Second Team. Of the 24 players selected for the First and Second Teams, Delaplane was one of only two not currently ranked among his franchise’s Top 30 prospects, as determined by MLB.com. That could change before long.
Other highlights

It marked Lavarnway’s third two-HR game this season, the first coming in his Cincinnati Reds debut (July 2) and the second in his Clippers debut (August 1). Columbus went on to win the International League Championship and faces the Sacramento River Cats in a one-game, Triple-A National Championship taking place September 17.
